New to Group Rides Ride
ScottV , Tuesday March 11 2008 - 10:41:13 // comment: 0

New to Group Rides is shaping up pretty well. We have some riders committed to this Saturday's ride! Weather's looking pretty good too, with ride time temp at about freezing.

If anyone needs a route map, just e-mail me, I have a copy in PDF format that I can send out.

Time to mark your calendar! New to Group Rides will begin in 10 weeks.

New to Group Rides is for riders who want to start riding with a group… but don’t know how or have never felt comfortable in a crowd. Each week we are going to work on the skills and etiquette needed to be safe and predictable when riding with others. Beginning the first Saturday of Daylight Saving (March 15) we’ll be gathering at the Menard’s in Elgin and then on, until the end of Daylight Saving (November 2). Membership* in the SDCCC is required to participate.

Be ready to ride, this ain’t no daisy picking ride, we’re going to push ourselves every week. We share the roads of Kane county with the local traffic, so make sure you are aware of the rules of the road and your bike is in good & safe working order prior to joining us. Our first rides will be 20 miles long lasting aprx 1.5 hours; the goal is to complete our rides by 9am. Though we will push the pace, this is a no-one left behind ride. We will stop as a group for flats and mechanicals.
